Mercedes has produced some crazy cars these couple of years SLR722, Stirling Moss 722 SLR, SL65 Back, SLS.

I'm always impressed by the torque numbers AMG motors put out, 1000ft/lbs is craaazy!

The double clutch gearbox of the SLS is slower than that of the 458 (same gearbox) because its re-inforced due to the torque numbers as faster shifting cant cope with the torque.

Interesting, didn't know that! Those transmissions must be bullet-proof. I wonder what kind of additional re-inforcement they did to this one to handle the four-digit torque.

Not sure but thats what a friend of mine (AMG-tech) told me.

I spoke with the owner....

he bought it used, sent straight to RennTech


motor comes out, cylinder heads decked (not sure if any other work)
limited slip rear diff added, tranny strengthened, full exhaust all the way back, full program, carbon underside (dunno if this was just a BS thing) Im sure there is more, but thats what I caught.
