he new 2009/2010 AMG Driving Academy is now accepting registrations from interested parties. Launched in 2007 the Academy has grown in stature over the years. Tailored to suit drivers of all levels of expertise, the tutorship is divided into EMOTION, BASIC, ADVANCED, PRO and MASTERS skill levels.

Highly experienced instructors with years of knowledge and motorsport experience are at hand to guide drivers through each required stage. The latest addition to the instructors' roll is former DTM, ITC and FIA-GT Champion Bernd Schneider. There is no "too experienced" or "too inexperienced" driver as instructors are able to handle students of all sorts.

A strong lifestyle element gives flair to the academy which comes out through the EMOTION module that this year includes a drive to Lake Constance and through the landscapes of Vorarlberg to Bregenz/Austria. An opera performance of Verdi's Aida forms part of this particular package.
For the hardcore enthusiast, drives on the Nürburgring or the Grand Prix circuit in Spa-Francorchamps circuits provide a good lesson for them in their AMG cars. At the very pinnacle of the AMG Academy is the AMGMASTERS Sports Trophy which is a series entered into by 25 of the best-trained and/ or most confident drivers who take part in three or four-day events at places like the Ascari Race Resort in Spain. The overall winner gets to drive the current DTM C-Class AMG as his/ her prize.

 

a friend of mine thought just bc she bought an AMG she would get a free class LOL...

how clueless is that... imagine every AMG owner gets a free class...

 

I heard that they do include a class if you buy the Performance Package in Germany. You have to use your own car but included in the price of the Performance Package is attending a one day school.

I wish they did that here in the US.

 

I would love to do this one day. I also need to drive around SPA just once in my lifetime. All I need is a couple laps and I'll die a happy and accomplished man...
