The full clamshell part number is 661-5302, which includes the LCD panel, top cover, isight, etc. They go for around $550.
The LCD panel itself is around $130.
Note that changing the LCD panel requires disassembling the display clamshell, which is difficult.

Have you done an aftermarket LCD in one of these? I haven't but it certainly looks like there is a lot of potential to damage/warp the casing.
It's A13969..
it's not cracked at all...it's bizarre actually that it happened...I don't remember a specific thing I did that caused it and it's oddly spreading...but my guess is i did squeeze it at some point...
Anyone know how much faster the new models are in real life use and are they backlit keyboards?

As far as the new machine, it seems to be about to the same speed in day to day tasks, it just doesn't get hung up as much during heavy multi tasking. I've also heard that some issues with bluetooth and wireless were resolved. I don't think it'll be a massive difference unless you were really giving your previous MBA a workout.

Get a new one with an SSD drive or if you are going to replace the screen buy an SSD while you're at it ! You will definetely notice the increase in work speed!

It started off much smaller...maybe 20% of what it is now and small spider like lines....It's just spreading..and changing shapes and color...think it will buff out?

In that case they'll probably warranty it. Impact damage would be a different story, but if there's no trauma on the panel or clamshell you should be fine.
