The point of their site is to leak new stuff. Like all the vehicle leaks we get. You imagine if car manufactures through a hissy fit everytime site posted pics. TS would be down with everyother site we ALL love. I also don't get why apple has such a hard on against adobe and won't let devices have flash. They do make good stuff obviously but they are also douchey.

It feels odd blasting Apple from my Mac mini at home ... so I'll do it from my Ubuntu machine at work!

Seriously, Apple makes some slick stuff and they're way ahead of Microsoft - but they've been going downhill (in my opinion) since Tiger. Now we've got Widgets, Time Machine, Apps, photo booth, more iLife nonsense to delete with a new Mac, etc., etc. Apple is now, I think, where Windows was at the start of XP: bloated.

Windows is still worse, but I'm drinking the Linux Kool-Aid now (thanks, in large part, to Apple!).

Probably because Adobe complained when Apple switched to Intel. Rumor at the time was that only a personal visit by Jobs to Adobe HQ convinced them to write a new CS for Intel Macs. My guess is that Apple decided then and there to punish Adobe down the road, and this is part of that punishment.

The Adobe vs Apple issue is rediculous.

There's a difference between leaking spy shots and information, and breaking the law by purchasing stolen property that belongs to Apple. They crossed the line, and are lucky they got away with as much as they did.

As for Flash, the reason Jobs hates it is because Flash is really, really shitty software. The VAST majority of Safari crashes are caused by Flash. What kept Flash off of iOS was Adobe's unwillingness to make an Apple-centric release that was a) stable, and b) not full of rife security holes.

As it is, Flash on iOS is largely irrelevant with the introduction of HTML5. In 6-12 months, nobody will care about Flash.

The fact that the VAST majority of their user base is on the Mac platform had a lot more to do with it.

I don't think was true then. That was certainly true in the late 90's, but when Apple switched to Intel they were still only 5% of the market and not more than 50% of Adobe's Photoshop seats, I'm sure.

Consumer desktop market share is not creative professional market share. Apple has dominated the desktop publishing, print and media markets in a big way since the early 90s due to the rife platform advantages they have enjoyed for many years.

The processor architecture was never particularly relevant. Even in the G3/4/5 days, Macs owned the creative market.

I only found out that Apple is introducing a new Macbook Pro a couple of hours after picking up a new one! Should have read a few Apple websites before buying!

Adobe's software ran far better & faster on the PPC chips than it did on their Intel platforms. Moving from my PPC to my Intel Blackbook was a big step backwards in performance.
