The new Apple TV was announced today, I have a question that I don't see a clear answer for on the site. I do digital signage and we have used Mac Minis with lots of success in the past but what I want to know is can I use a Mac Mini to store content and stream it out to Apple TV devices.

Does anyone know if you can stream "anything" from another apple device or does it have to be via iTunes?

 

iTunes needs to handle the stream, but you can encode whatever content you want so long as the device supports it.

 

That is what I was afraid of. I can't use my content through a publicly available software platform like iTunes. Bummer, I need a solution just like this without being stuck with iTunes.

 

You can also load third party software onto Apple TV which allows you to do whatever you want. I have aTV Flash loaded on mine.

 

i'm an early ATV adopter, can you give me morei nfo on the ATV Flash? I can hook up an external to the ATV correct?

 

other than Netflix, anything else worth having through this thing? Pandora avail? Satellite Radio or any other music channels??
