I bought one a few weeks ago.....I don't think I'll be going back to PC any time soon

the best part about it is that it does what you want it to do.....i.e. no lag no viruses etc

If you get a iMac, make sure to buy the warranty. I had an iMac crap out on me 1 year after the initial warranty expired and it cost me $700 to fix it (made the mistake of NOT backing up my photos) so I could retrieve the images. Ended up selling it for like $400 a few months later lol.

Get the 27" iMac. I've been through the exact same thought process as yourself. I'll be doing the same in the future.

I don't know if I can justify the huge 27''. My dad has that setup (not a mac) and the monitor is farking huge. However his desk is much larger and he sits a ways back. My desk is smaller so I'd probably swivel my neck to look edge-to-edge.

Probably going with the basic iMac package and maybe upgrade to more ram later (possible, right?).

Here is the Dell monitor I would have used. Anything much nicer than this and the whole package exceeds the iMac by enough to no longer be worth it.

DELL ST2310 23 Inch Full HD Widescreen Monitor : LCD, Flat Panel & Widescreen Monitors & Accessorie | Dell Canada

Combined with the Apple mouse/keyboard, and a Mac Mini spec'd at $960 (comparable to the basic iMac in terms of specs, I think)....

I got the basic package with 4gb of ram and you wouldn't believe how many things I can have running at the same time and without freezing or lagging

I run dual 23" screens, and truth be told, it's still small at times. If you're even teetering on the issue, I'd strongly suggest going larger.

I'm not even teetering. I've worked on this 15'' laptop as my desktop for 5 years and never had trouble. Another 15'' laptop for a few years before that. 21+ should be just fine.

WTF you doing on dual 23s?????
