Macbook Pro battery issue

My laptop's battery is draining really quickly these days. At least 50% faster than it usually does. It's an aluminum macbook pro. I haven't changed anything, maybe using PS a bit more these days, but nothing significant.

Any ideas? Simba?

It's taking a shit, time for a new battery. Mine did the same thing.

Sometimes you'll even see the percentage drop down to like 5 to 6 and then jump up to mid 20s or more.

Luckily for me, my friend who poured water all over his MBP and destroyed it gave me his fairly fresh battery.

Time for a new battery. I had the same problem about a year and a half ago and ready for another one...again!

Same thing happened to me Ash. Seemed to happen almost overnight. Time for a new battery.

I literally just bought the computer like 6 months ago. This is ridiculous. BTW, Russ, we should talk, I'll shoot you an email.

If it's only six months old, it's highly unlikely you've exhausted the cell's cycles.

Click the battery icon on your task bar-- does it say "service battery"?

It's possible you got a problem cell. Stop by an Apple store with the battery and they can check it out for you and replace it if necessary. If it's only six months old it should be warrantied.

Yeah I'm gonna go to Tekserve today and see what they say. It doesn't say anything on the task bar other than the normal percentage/time left.

It may just need to be calibrated. Try this.

Are you leaving it plugged in all day and never draining it?
