It looks like a fun device, but here is where they've failed IMO.
Flash support -- How Apple can possibly issue this device after all the uproar over lack of Flash support on the iPhone / iPod Touch is beyond me.
Multitasking -- Still no support for multitasking apps.
File support -- Unclear in this demo if I can add my own library of pdf docs for use.
Input -- This device does not meet the "tablet" criteria (maybe why they went with the pad moniker?) by failing to allow stylus input. Especially with apps like Brushes. I was really hoping to use this device as a training tool in our flight school to draw, annotate, etc. but save in digital format that the students can keep and review, versus having to keep up with piles of paper.
Phone support -- If it's 3G enabled, and I have to pay for a data plan, why not just make it a phone as well? If I'm carrying this thing, a bluetooth earpiece is all I need. Better yet, support your legacy customers and allow me to swap my SIM between my iPhone 3GS and the iPad.
Data packages -- Those plan prices are fair, but if I'm already paying for data with my iPhone, why do I want to turn around and pay for another plan with the iPad? Allow me to tether my iPhone 3GS for data, or most will likely just jailbreak and tether via WiFi.

I still don't see how this is Apple's "most advanced technology", nor why anyone would wan't the iPhone OS on a laptop-sized display when we have things like Android. More than anything I just don't get that huge bezel, it just doesn't look like a sleek new Apple device, to at least hide it's now outdated functionality. I understand that it's probably there so you can grip it without activating the screen, but I think it's too much.
