On a slightly more serious note, maybe Firefox is the culprit? I've noticed that it tends to grow bigger and bigger until it crashes under it own resource weight ...

it is the resource hog - 25% or so, Thunderbird @ 15-20%.

as for everyone else, i've had Windows, i've done Unix (since college), went the Ubuntu route for awhile, etc, etc. i need a Mac for what i am doing - there's no way around it.

in other people's experiences w/ Mac, will it do what i want it to do?

Hey Chuck, I picked up a MB Pro 15" with the 3GHz processor, has 8 GB RAM, and 500 GB HD @7200rpm...I run a VMWare image with Windows XP...fastest machine I've ever used...for my business we run demo drives of software with no problem...love it and will never go back to PC...unless apple f's up in the future...
