Safari and Sleep Mode

Safari and Sleep Mode
Is there any way to keep Safari from trying to "quit" when my Mac goes into Sleep Mode? Any time I wake the computer, I have to click a few times to instruct Safari not to quit.
Also, is there any way to keep pop-ups from opening in the background?

When you sleep the machine, it should simply save the state it's in and return it to that state when it wakes up. If Safari is trying to quit, something else is probably responsible. Perhaps a plugin or widget that's doing something odd.
Selecting "block pop-up windows" from the Safari menu will stop most of them. The only ones it won't stop are those opened by flash movies, which are commonly used for "rich media" ads. Give SafariBlock a try.

Simba, first let me say thanks for your contributions to this forum. It's very much appreciated by all, I'm sure.
I think I incorrectly described my problem in the original post. When I put my computer into Sleep Mode (go to the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner and click "Sleep"), Safari is fine when I wake it from Sleep Mode. However, if I allow my system to "time out" and go into Sleep Mode on its own, I then have the issue with Safari trying to "quit" when I come back and wake it.

And I agree that Safari is much better than Firefox. When I first switched over to Mac, I had been a long time Firefox user on Windows, so I naturally wanted to use Firefox on the Mac. I wasn't all that happy with it, so I tried Safari and have never looked back.

As far as I know, it is relatively untouched. I had the problem with Leopard...recently upgraded to Snow Leopard...still have the same problem.

I used Firefox for a while before I came over to the Dark Side. Safari is untouchable...

you to the Dark Side.
