itunes question

If I buy something from itunes say a movie and then delete it from my computer because I need the space is it gone forever and if I ever wanted it back I would have to pay again? Or is it known that I have purchased it and will be able to just redownload it? I know I should just go out and get a external HD because mine is full but I am just curious for the meantime.

Apple lets you re-download all your purchased itunes media once in the event of a drive failure or other unrecoverable "things go boom" event. After that, not, so keep a backup.

You can also back up everything in iTunes to optical media periodically.
