iMac20?

I'm considering picking up an Imac 20 for $999 after rebate, to replace my old PC.
  • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.66GHz >2GB DDR3-1066 RAM >320GB 7,200RPM Hard Drive >8x SuperDrive with 4x Double Layer Burning DVD±RW Drive >NVIDIA GeForce 9400M >10/100/1000 Network >AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wireless Network >Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR >Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
  • 20" Widescreen LCD
SKU: 039776Mfr Part #: MB417LL/A UPC: 885909220168$1,199.99
$999.99 after rebate savings

Is it a good workhorse? I mostly browse/email, file pictures, etc. No complex graphics, no time for wargames anymore.
Would there be a problem connecting to other networks? (now using remote desktop to do medical records online). How about Quicken.

It'll work fine.

How about Quicken.

Good. THis is a good machine. I love my iMac 24". Best machine on the market (for the dollar) by far.

How would you set up something like remote desktop on an iMac? I need to connect to my hospital's network.

How are you doing it now? Your IT folks are likely using some kind of client (Citrix, Cisco, etc.) You'll just need the Mac version. They should be able to configure it for you. If they have you doing an actual remote desktop session to a Windows box, OSX has a client for that too, literally called Remote Desktop Connection.
