lol..my first thoughts exactly..

downloaded it today and it seems faster than Firefox...at least on this connection i am using on my vacation.

You can add/remove whatever sites you like from the top sites listing.

Safari 4 is a good deal faster in most respects to anything out there currently. The new JavaScript engine, for example, is several times faster than anything else out there.

I hear everyone say how much faster it is, but for me it seems to take longer for a site to load

Have you used safari for a while? Maybe you find it slower compared to Firefox, but it might be that you've cached/visited those sites before and therefore FF loads them up quicker than Safari? Try resetting both and set-up a dragrace

I've been using Safari exclusively

Uninstalling and reinstalling it seems to have helped a bit....

The rendering engine is slightly different. It'll assemble a page completely before displaying it, instead of building things on the fly. It's to avoid the "dancing elements" effect.

Compare a complete page load in Safari to anything else, from request to stop, it's quite a bit faster, especially if there's heavy javascript.
