Can MacBook burn double sided dvds?

I have Leopard on my computer ready to burn but the file is about 8 GIGs.

I don't have double sided DVDs but before I go looking for them at Staples..How type would I get exactly and is the MacBook capable of burning double sided DVDs?

TIA

I think you are referring to dual layer DVD's? If so, I don't think they are actually double sided, but do require a dual layer writer.

If you are referring to dual layer dvds, I know my Macbook can but to make sure go to about this mac and make sure it says +R DL under disc burning.

No DVDs (these days) are double sided. Just about any MB or MBP with the superdrive can burn a dual layer DVD-- however this applies only to write once media, not rewritables.

You want DVD+R DL media.
