Thinking of selling iPhone

It's the best interface I have ever seen...and I love it...but I just don't use it for phone calls... 7 minutes last month...I just go for trusty Verizon and my Razr which is solid as a phone.

I'm traveling less as I am engaged and my finance will be moving here.

Bottom line..how is the iTouch for mail and web access. assuming when I am in an area with reception.

I am less than impressed with the reception with AT&T...while it's better than it was...still no match for Verizon..

Mark, if it's reception that's the issue, trade it in for a storm. My dad just got one and I've been playing around with it and it's solid. The clicking thing is pretty cool too.

iPod Touch works the same as the iPhone so far as web and email goes-- just requires a wifi network within range.

another vote for storm here too but if you are never going to be using this for a phone because you have your razr then 100% go for touch. If you are within a wifi it has great access...

I am def going to get an iTouch and sell the iPhone..I love all the features of it but as a phone I just prefer a flip phone and Verizon service.

Might keep the iPhone till after a tradeshow in Las Vegas next month..

If in reach of a wireless network, how would speed compare with a Touch to the iphone in the same area...I guess what I am asking is would a 3G network connection be faster than wireless in most places?

So far as the air interface goes, no, never. You could run into a situation in which a completely flogged public wifi connection has so many users that you're not getting as much throughput as you would on a 3G connection, but except for that kind of issue, it'll never happen.

I use a crackberry myself. CDMA air interface is awesome and super fast. I just wish I wasn't stuck with horrible browsers and a questionable UI. One thing I've been wanting to try is connecting to the BB from an iPod Touch via bluetooth, and use the BB's bandwidth on the Touch UI/software. That'd be the best of both worlds, though unfortunately will involve a lot of cracking on the device.

The absolute rub of using an iPhone: ATT.

OTOH, the convenience of synching my calendar with my wife's along with the UI, visual voicemail, app store, etc make me grit my teeth through the phone functionality.

I echo those that suggested a Storm if you want to stay with 1 device and Verizon. My partner just got one and loves it.
