They're a lot better than the white earbuds, but probably nothing like the professional Shure models. If you want the best, the Shure E4C is what I'd consider that to be. They were recently re-modeled and updated to the SE420.

Right but the E4C will not function as a mic/headset though.....or will they?

The SE530 is actually the best in the shure lineup. However, Ultimate Ears also makes a nice universal pair (TF10) as well as some custom buds that run over $1,000.

Both Shure and UE have options to keep the mic so you can use their headset with the iPhone.

Yes, I know. The 4C/SE420 sounds better, IMO. I have both.

Nope. There are ways of using the pro earphones with a mic, but it's not a single solution.

I am a big fan of the Etymotic Research 6i earphones.

I take a lot of business calls on my cell phone throughout the day. What would be good for plugging into the iPhone for these business calls. Now, I've either got the phone jammed up to my ear, which is probably giving me a brain tumor, or I'm using the iPhone's speaker mode.

Bluetooth headset is probably the best way to go. Motorola makes some fairly comfortable ones.

Shure & Ultimate Ears both have released new mobile iPhone earphones that we have in stock:

Feel free to give us call or PM me for our best pricing on Shure, we will also match or beat any other authorized dealers price. I am personally a fan of the UE super.fi 5Vi.
