Exclamation Spy Shots: The Next Porsche 911 Turbo

Teamspeed Exclusive - The Next 911 Turbo Spied!

Before you think these are just another set of Porsche 911 spy shots, take a closer look: these are the very first spy photos of the new 911 Turbo. Those big air-inlets in the rear fenders are no longer stickers that Porsche put there on the normal 911 prototypes, these are real holes. And look at those wide fenders and the rear bumper with the integrated exhaust pipes and air outlets on the sides. This is the real deal, the icon of icons; The next 911 Turbo.

But how much power will the new 911 Turbo have? We have heard rumors talking about all between 550-600 wild horses powering all four wheels. And it seems like the guys over at Porsche have made it possible to fit the engine with its turbos and intercoolers without needing a big wing at the back. Maybe the “whaletail” wing will be optional and the retractable wing standard.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. The “normal” 911 versions are planned to be official at the Frankfurt car Show in September later this year, making it possible that they will reveal the Turbo in Geneva in March 2012.

DJ to the rescue!! Geneva 2012 hurts to wait but I'm sure it'll be well worth it. I'm going to have to let September do for me. It is a bit weird not seeing the wing at the back like the last turbo had and I hope it is indeed an option.

Nice.

The rear looks very wide with the angular areas surrounding the spoiler.

Stunning....looks very long and a bit heavy, but we'll see when the final product shows. Good one.

Great pics! There's a lot of camouflage still on the car, especially at the rear. I'm sure we will see a permanent spoiler, like all turbos have had before, on a later prototype.

Great images DJ.

The disguise around the headlights seem to have an indentation hinting towards the headlight shape... More Cayman like?

Is it just me or does it look like there is a little more junk in that trunk?
