Dealer diagnostic does not have type 1/2 overrev data?

I'm looking at a 99 C4 that i'm hoping to buy as a winter toy, its going in for PPI soon but the dealership (porsche of Clifton Park, NY) says their diagnostic tools no longer provide the functionality of revealing overrevs. Does this sound right? Anyone have any info?
