Good review, and the last comments sums it up well. For me the new Caymen seems more interesting.

Wow, great review. I am shocked to see how Porsche has really made the 911 such a GT, DD. I really hope they release the GT3 in 7MT. Need something in my stable that is going to arouse the senses. M5 already does the DD duties just fine.

I don't think we can trust his perception of the car being slow in 3rd gear, don't forget he drives a modified GT2. A modified GT2 really pulls like mad in 3rd gear so driving one will fvck up anyones perspective on a car feeling fast.
Great write up!

Fester is an unknown quantity at this point
It's not a turbo car so not having continuous pull in high gears is expected

Great write up!
I agree and disagree.. I drive an Escalade 80% of the time and a Z3 M coupe 15% of the time.. the change in acceleration in the C4S when it hits 3rd is very noticeable.. but yeah, I am ruined in general

Hi MC321,

thanks - good writing and we should have more of these here on ts. Its exactly these kind of reviews I trust more than some shiny journalist review..lets not forget that they are invited for champagne parties before hand...we are not.

On the power issue - I think you are correct..when one looks at this, the 991S is clearly loosing breath after 3 gear..but on the other hand..400HP is 400HP..it cant do miracles..

thanks & I hope you will keep your GT2 Im like you..a new boxster or cayman could be an addition..but my GT2 will stay..

well..i still think the 991S will be quicker to 100..but than it will loose...but discussing 100/or 10ths of second..is not very useful.

PS: you drove the Mclaren..what about that..? Dont tell me its like a 991-911?...still need to drive one..

The Mclaren is insanely fast, and coming from a modded-GT2 owner, that should say a lot
