991 GT3 to come with AWD?

I came across these pictures while scouring the net for Porsche related news and found this 'new' article from GlobalMotors. As you'd have guessed, they are the spy-shots of the new 991 GT3 (going by the center-lock wheels, aggressive front bumper, central exhausts and the Aero-Kit-Cup) and these pictures have been taken somewhere near the Arctic Circle, apparently.

And then something else caught my eye..

Strange, isn't it? Camo'd strip at the back, reminiscent of the 4/4S when they were spotted testing. Even the 991 Targa has it. Could it be just the reflector strip, or is Porsche really going to offer a GT3 '4'?

P.S. I'm sorry if this is stupid, and isn't particularly 'news' as such.

Maybe just using the wider body of the regular 4 for this mule.

There had been quite a few turbo mule spy shots around and I don't believe any had the centered exhaust.

Nope that is the new GT3...in Germany there are some semi-official shots in the magazines already...should be the final look!

On second look, you guys are right - but it might just be a GT3 on winter tires vs. AWD. I can't imagine it being AWD since they are built for race car homologation (i.e. where AWD ist verboten).

And this idea came from seeing a Porsche testing in winter conditions?

Hey marc no beating up on the new ts heavy weights. This is top information, I thought you knew that the gtr was superior to the gt3 because of awd.

No shot the 991 GT3 has AWD. They have always tested all models in snowy conditions. Just look back at all the spy shots for all models over the years we posted.
