Took the toy to the playground (pics)

The wife is away visiting family. So what does a Pnut do?... runs for his toy and heads for the Smokies!!! Took off early this morning for Tellico Plains,TN and onto the Cherohala and then the Dragon. Covered approx 220 staggeringly beautiful miles. The weather could not be better (72-76F) and the fall colors are still there. I'm going to be brief as I'm wiped out and tired. The 991S is hands down the finest 911 I have owned! It lived up to everything I'd want from a sports car. Its a great cruiser and a phenomenal performer on the twisties. I'm in love with PDCC as it sucked up some really poor road surfaces and noticeably kept the car level to provide incredible control on severely testing twisties. I'm rambling.... I'm tired... I'll write more tomorrow when I get back home. Until then some pics. Just so pleased with the car!!!!!

You know.... on the roads it was on today it was far more versatile than the GT3. IMO it would keep up with a GT3 on the Dragon. The steering on the GT3 is spectacular on precision and feel... the 991S is less so in comparison. Having stated that I think it is still way better than my skills would find it to be a limiting factor. So answer to your question.... IMO the 991S (based on my car spec as its what I know) is as good or better than a GT3 for street "spirited" driving. The GT3 is at home on a track and IMO will provide a "race" type of experience to the driver that the 991S wouldn't.

I really am blown away by the capability of the car. I've done the same drive I did today in my gt3 and not once did I miss it!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

I live very close to all of the areas you mentioned and have driven them all. Great drive and to your point, a great playground.

All the way from the tail end of the Cumberland Plateau and through to the edge of Eastern Tennessee is a drivers delight. We're lucky indeed,

I really like the rear valence/exhaust and front lip! I bet it would super clean with a debadge.

I've been thinking about it. Will do a couple of dummy photoshop images to see what it could look like.

The Dragon is challenging and you have to pick a weekday to do it as weekends can be busy. I prefer the cherohala skyway and the surrounding roads.
