Motor Trend’s has named the new Porsche 911 Carrera S the best driver's car for 2012. Each contender was run through a battery of dynamic tests, a 500 mile road trip, hard canyon driving and an evaluation at the hands of a professional driver. The new 911 was pitted against some of the world's best like the mighty McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini's Aventador, Mercedes-Benz's AMG C63 Black-Series, Nissan's GT-R, and many more non of us would kick out of the garage. Porsche has got to feel pretty darn good about this one!

Not surprised. It is a great car, but we all have different wants and needs from a drivers car and it changes as we change. So its very hard to really find a car many of us agree on. Plus Motortrend mag has dwindled in its ability to predict best car awards; remember they gave that award to many clunkers in the past (eg. remake of the ford thunderbird).
I usually prefer Car&Driver, Road and Track, or Automobile Mag.
