I noticed something out of the ordinary in the spy pictures above.

Check this out.

The fins in the air-intakes on the bumper looks different from the ones on the regular Carrera and Cabriolet. Constant improvements and changes by Porsche R&D? Or maybe just a design feature that's exclusive to the new Targa?
It may be a better mounting solution for the front parking sensors.

the front parking sensors were a bit of controversy amongst designers for Porsche. Maybe they're relocating them?

Ps. the bigger news is the optional Adaptive Cruise Control.... you can clearly see it on that car.

^^ Ahh yes I see that too. Right in the center of the main air-intake. I was wondering what that was, and then remembered that I've spotted something similar on some Mercs. Guessed as much that it's the cruise-control.

While it may be a PITA, there is a 991 with a retractable roof already. I think a manual top would add too the coolness.

You could be right though there might be some sort of automated solution. Another question: Does anybody think it could be possible that the large glass piece in the back could pop out?

Imagine, instead of doing a new Targa, they designed a new hard top concept looking as the Targa ?? That could explain the cabriolet base seen on the pictures. Just a suggestion.

You could be on to something! Here is one of those 997 conversion things I saw once. It looks really nice in person.

Naa.. I think Porsche will know that they will have to accommodate the Targa body-style variant in the 991 portfolio. Making a 991 Coupe that only looks like the Targa might - but has no such functions, would only mean a waste of time, money and effort by the R&D fellows.

The Cabriolet base is just camouflage, I presume.

May be, but my suggestion is not based on the cabriolet camouflage but on the fact it is a cabriolet. we can see the line of the moving parts. body
