I'd like to know how it works too. The roll-bar/hoop seems to be made out of glass. Or it's just a really good camouflage job.
I noticed something out of the ordinary in the spy pictures above.

The fins in the air-intakes on the bumper looks different from the ones on the regular Carrera and Cabriolet. Constant improvements and changes by Porsche R&D? Or maybe just a design feature that's exclusive to the new Targa?

the front parking sensors were a bit of controversy amongst designers for Porsche. Maybe they're relocating them?
Ps. the bigger news is the optional Adaptive Cruise Control.... you can clearly see it on that car.

^^ Ahh yes I see that too. Right in the center of the main air-intake. I was wondering what that was, and then remembered that I've spotted something similar on some Mercs. Guessed as much that it's the cruise-control.

I think a manual top would add too the coolness. You could be right though there might be some sort of automated solution. Another question: Does anybody think it could be possible that the large glass piece in the back could pop out?

The Cabriolet base is just camouflage, I presume.
