Our trusty Teamspeed spies have spotted the upcoming wide-bodied Carrera 4S undergoing final stages of testing on the famed Nürburgring. This prototype was sporting a yellow sticker covering the red reflector strip in an attempt to fool us but we know better!
The new 911 Carrera 4 will retain the same 3.4-liter flat-six that powers the rear-wheel-drive 911 Carrera, with 350hp and 287lb-ft of torque. The Carrera 4S receives the beefed-up 3.8-liter flat-six, which makes a hefty 400hp and 325lb-ft of torque. Pricing will be revealed as we get closer to launch in the next few months.
According to recently released specs on the EPA's website, the next new Porsche 911 C4 variants coming to the US, will boast better fuel economy than the outgoing models they replace.

it is wider. the reason why it's harder to tell on the 991 is because the front fender on the 991 is much wider than the 997. 991 front is almost as wide as the 997 GT3 RS with the extended fender flares. on the C2S, if u look at the side from the 45 degree angle, the front fender is almost as wide as the rear fender. pics above clearly shows the rear is wider than the front, not to mention the added side rocker panel. i like what i see. too bad 2S will always be more fun to drive while the 4S looks better & beefier.

I thought the same thing. From the side, it almost looks like there is more space between the door and the rear wheel. Sort of the old 300ZX 2+2 that looked pretty similar, but was just that much longer to look a little off.
