That's going to be one weird looking thin stripe if that's what it is.
Compare the width of the stripe on the 996 C4S, which matched up with the tail lights.
Or the 993 C4S, where the strip fit perfectly with the tail lights:
To this:
It doesn't seem to fit at all in the tail light scheme.
If that really is a red reflector, I don't think it's going to work at all.
