I see what you mean. It looks like it was decided to have the shifter/leather boot match the center console color (black) rather than the interior leather color.

I noticed that too. It looks like they're trying to match it with the black buttons, a/c controls, and PCM on the center console.

EDIT: You beat me by a few seconds dallas.

I won't be surprised knowing Porsche if they had an extra "option" charging us people for matching shift boot leather, shift boot, etc. They do milk us for all we're worth when it comes to options.

Excellent write up guys! I totally see this happening very similar to the 458 italia....at first everyone was excited that it blew the 430 out of the water with speed and fast gear changes....but left some of it's "soul" behind because it didn't kick you in the back when you shift...I guess I look at each generation of porsche as a stepping stone and I love the old ones just as much as the new ones....to each his own I guess.

What's odd is the 991 configurator shows the leather color of the manual shift knob & boot following the color of the rest of the interior. Hopefully the black leather knob & boot was just a one off and they're not going to charge us extra for the way it should be (and always has been). But knowing Porsche, they might just have found another way to squeeze an extra $500-1000 out of us...
