NEW 911: Better like it because it's here until 2025

While I'm always impressed at those who just hold onto their money; I always shake my head when those people NEVER do anything that creates amazing moments in your life.
Id' say owning a super car is one of those moments. Especially if you can share those moments with your friends and family.

I think this is similar to the 996/997 family. Same basic platform available for a VERY LONG time. Each had a minor mid-cycle refresh with a single major model refresh (996->997) in the middle. I would assume a 991 refresh in 4-5 years, then a major update 7-8 years out, but still utilizing the same basic 991 platform.
The platform will last for 14 years, but the 991, only 7.
BTW, 991 refresh in 3.5 years, or June 2016.

I'm sure the platform is designed to handle much more than Porsche's currently throwing at it. They had great success with the 996 into 997, and this surely shaped their decision on this generation.
Bottom line: people will complain about this for a month now, and in 7-8 years again for a few weeks, then they will shut up. Porsche knows what they're doing, and they will adjust if necessary - especially with the 911.

Rep coming your way.
