Who drives their RWD 997 all year round???

TeamSpeeders,

I have had a 997S and a Cayman S as my only vehicles at a time and gone through winters with each WITHOUT snow tires. I didnt have any issues with no being able to get around in the snow the few times it did snow here in Philly - however as I am a little older now i dont want to be stuck without a ride (for my job, girlfriend, etc) --- does anyone on here drive their RWD 997 year round/in the snow/bad weather? If so - what snow tires are you guys using? Are you mounting them right onto the OEM wheels? Any other ideas/tips for me as i plan on going back to a 997 as my only car?

Thanks in advance.

I'd buy a Carrera 4/4S and put some (smaller) wintertires on it. I don't even like driving the 911 fast in rain on the autobahn because its starts to slide over all 4 wheels so fast

We don't have those speeds here.

Stop being a wussy and toss snow tires on the car and call it a day.

Thanks guys. As i said, i am familiar with how a 997 behaves in the bad weather - and a Cayman S for that matter - i was just wondering if anyone had any real tips and tricks. i guess a cheap set of 18s and some blizzacks is the best you can do?

While I was in Ireland I learned very quickly American's are horrible drivers.

Don't be a wus- for the what, maybe 8-10 days a year it's blowing snow 1' deep on the road? Gimme a break. Get C2S; RWD is faster and more nimble.

PERFORMANCE first!

I would go with a 997.2 C4 / C4S... i love that ass.... but a rwd should be fine... a guy at my gym drives a 997.2 GT3 around all the year....
