2012-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car (997.2.1)
Yes there are some changes:
The main visible change is a safer fuel tank with a capacity of 100 liter - currently 90 liter - This means that refuelling will be from the front bonnet (See Pictures)
None of the changes will make the car go faster.
Still waiting for Porsche Motorsport to confirm new updates.

So it's not the mk1 vs mk2 type changes???
I was hope'n there will be a jump so that the gt3 cup mk2 will take a price hit
Talking about the mk1 vs mk2, what are the differences there exactly? Cause the mk2 is significantly quicker, no?

They should be taking a hit with the Global Crisis sinking in deeper depleting sponsorship budgets and the 991 Cup rumored to make its appearance in 2014

Quite significant.. It should relatively be the same as the differences between the 997 and 997.2 of the GT3RS which are based on their Cup equivalents. In both cases, resulting in better handling and quicker lap times.

Yes.. Two reasons for the new wider tires:
1. To compensate for the lack of grip in the newer "greener" compound. (rabbits can now snack on the tire marbles).
2. Reduce rim damage from curbs.
