996 2001 vs 2003

I am looking at two 996's (this will be my first porsche, i have been a porsche nut for years, now its time to buy). I found a nice 01 996 with an aero kit with 27k miles on it and an 03 911 with 37k miles on it. Should i even be looking at the 01? I can either for the same price. Im just trying to get opinions from people who can been there and done that.

Thanks

AC

Personal I think the later face lifted 996 is a better car, the 3.6L engine is stronger and interior finish seems better.
That said I had a 2001 996c2 with aero kit for 4 years, with 54k miles on the clock. It only ever needed a new alternator.

Good luck with what ever you decide.

AC after owning both I can tell you to 100% go for the 2003, the revised engine makes all the difference.

2003 - as everyone before stated. Looks better, interior will be nicer, revised engine makes a world of difference.

^^^ This. I owned a 996.1 followed by a 996.2, and the .2 was a huge improvement over the .1
