Buy a Garmin. Parts are:

Install pretty expensive too.

I asked my dealer the same thing when I took delivery of my C4S and he laughed out loud. I'm assuming this is yet another P-Car $5k upgrade.

I reaaallly don't need it, just thought I would ask around...I found a dvd unit and dvd for $550...thought it could be worth a try but I havent found a wire harness...I have done plenty of car stereo installs to have the experience.

For you, yes. 09- forward 997's use a HD based system that is VIN specific. The company that makes it (I'm assuming Harmon) charges and arm and a leg for it.

the 05-08 997's use a DVD based unit that plugs into the back of the PCM. The issue is all in the coding. Get it wrong and you'll piss your 997 something fierce. LOL

My advice- Go get a Garmin or Tom-Tom unit. Much better and less expensive compared to going the OEM way.

Thanks stoppie...I almost had a heart attack tonight when using the PCM...a cd I put in the unit was bent (i think) and it only came out a little bit of the way..not enough for me to grab it. So I almost got an allen wrench trapped in there getting the cd out.lol luckily fate was on my side and it was all resolved with some patience and a little pair of needle nose pliers.

Its roughly 2800.00 here between parts and labor with tax to add Nav to a 997.1
