I am only putting the car cover away for the winter....I intend to drive my cars all winter.

I put on my factory hollow spoke twists and mounted 225/40 and 265/35 blizzak lm-25 snows. Recommended porsche snow sizes... (although is it not "so" recommended to install them on factory sized wheels: the rear tire is slightly stretched over the rim. But hey, everyones doing it... LOL

I must say, it is SO fun to drive in the snow with this setup. Granted i wont take it out when there is more than a couple inches on the ground.

Try it and tell me you dont love it. These cars are meant to be driven in harsh conditions. The bottom line is they are "just" cars. Have fun with them...

 

Just noticed you have a C2S. Even without AWD, it will do great in the snow with proper tires (real snow tires, not all season/weather tires). Especially with the engine in the back and with the laws of weight transfer...

Remember, 996tt and 997C4S have pretty "crude" AWD systems anyways. I am looking at going RWD on the turbo next spring and that wouldnt stop me from taking the car out once in a while like I do now.

Im in Montreal, Canada btw. Take the car out once every week/2weeks just for fun.

 

Maybe the older C4S, but the newer ones (from 2009-on) have the same PTM system as the 911 Turbo. I am driving mine all winter - Michelin Pilot Alpins mounted on OEM 997 C4 wheels.
