Anyone remember what the launch colors were for the 996 and 997, if there was even such a thing? Any speculation on what the launch color would be for the 991?

 

If I remember correctly, the C2S Coupe was Porsche Racing Green and Beige while the C2S Cab was Aqua Blue and Grey. Don't remember the C2 combos.

 

The C4S launch color was Meteor Gray. I'm guessing a red and a silver this time around.

 

I sure as $hit hope it's not that Puke Mustard Yellow we just saw a few days ago!

 

Thanx for these pics! I like the blue.We have to wait but the rear that is easely visible on the read one is less "sexy" than the 997! It appears higher less smooth and the lights looks too sharp.

 

I really wish they would have done an evolution of the 997 interior. The center console isn't too bad, but all the buttons at the peak of it are ridiculous, and the door panels are bloated with the speakers that looked glued on, and the trim pieces that look like they're melting off. I hope the production car is at least slightly different.

 

It is crazy how so many of us are so critical of a 911 model change, yet end up buying it and raving about it, only to start all over again at the next model change... I bought a 2004 very low mileage 996 40th anniversary, which had all the goodies and the X51 power kit, towards end 2004, after the 997 had been launched, and at a price superior to the base 997 C2, in an attempt to hold on to a "more 911 looking Porsche", especially interior wise... Owned a 997 C2S cab later on and currently a 997.2 GT3, and I feel towards the 991 as I did back then towards the 997... Go figure!!
