any value in dme scan for pdk car?

any value in dme scan for pdk car?
i'm helping a friend find a 09 pdk 997. It would seem to me that there would be no value in scanning the dme as part of a ppi, since the pdk will not allow you to do an over rev (even in manual mode), correct?
