As for the price, there are people with that kind of money, and that kind of passion for Porsche. This car is an investment, and will probably be worth more than 250k in 20 years.
wrong on so many levels...well except your OCD....real OCD people have CDO btw

NO Way in 20 years it's worth that kind of coin. Late 50's cars with Character flying out their a$$hole will always be up there. (now selling at 30 plus times there msrp)

If made properly this 997 speedster could hold value above typical cabs forever for years to come. It will never be a classic. Sorry the classics have stopped being produced.

That being said I will still snatch one up if they look good. I love the speedsters!

I agree and disagree with you, I believe there are extremely few classics being made right now. And in about 30 years or so, they will be a classic. Cars like the CGT, Enzo, etc. Otherwise, cars now days just are not made the same way in which older(classics) cars were, which in a sense, gave them that character and that special feeling to them.

How are the older speedsters fairing in value these days? Anyone know?

I'd buy one in proper color for a reasonable price.
Look closer to the pic from autoweek; it's got a 997 Turbo Front end and a GT2 rear valance.

50's speedsters have dropped about 25k in asking prices. most hovering 150-175k

88's are running still around 65-75k. Except the One white one available the guy wants 100k...LMAO Although he contacted me and might have thought my affinity for White Cars would cloud my judgement. Missed a Beauty 16k miles for 80k last year.....still kicking myself although the 94's are better runners all the way around

94's are running about 70-90k depending on the mileage and color.

Not that I watch the market

Fair enough. I only mean it will hold it's value if it actually does end up costing 250k. I actually think it'll end up costing a Boxster cheaper then that.

And what do you mean by "CDO"

And also, I think it might one day be a classic. It's funny though seeing how cool and high quality Ford's were in the 50's, and seeing how crappy they were in the 90's, and still are. I don't think Porsche has or will loose it's charm.

How could you miss the GT3 wheels, and oversized speedster humps??

Chris Chris Chris.....They do have subtle....Too subtle imho. That's the issue. The 50's 80's and 90's said BAM look at me. I'm different. I am superior to my brothers in everyway. Like Joseph in The Amazing techno Dreamcoat.

It's got to SCREAM I'm a speedster.

^^ Doesn't seem like you watch the market at all. You might want to look once in awhile haha.

Thanks for the info!

CDO.......OCD spelled properly

I miss a lot. I want a car that screams I'm different. I don't want a blender......This black car blends in and only the FEW (don't take this wrong guys) Freaks on the internet will actually see the difference
