My '09 C2S w/ Mods

Hi all. It's been a few months going from my '10 GT3 to my '09 C2S (coupe, 6spd). Although my GT3 is tremendously missed, I must say with some personal touches -- my C2S is a close 2nd to the GT3.

Some mods that I've done:
* OEM short shift
* Champion springs & spacers
* Powder coat OEM wheels
* OEM Turbo wing
* Cargraphic side mufflers
* Sharkwerks bypass
* BMC air filter
* 35% tint

She runs strong -- very strong actually. Plus, the CG and SW combo sounds excellent.

Here are some pics:

Taylor - I am looking at going the opposite direction (from an '09 C4S to a 3.8L GT3). What things have you noticed between the two cars? Things I've read indicate the Carreras are better road cars with the GT3 too compromised. I've owned several "difficult" daily drivers so having a "difficult" weekend car shouldn't be too much of a stretch. Let me know what your impressions are... Congrats on the new ride!

I too love "difficult" drives even for DD.

IMHO, the GT3 (2010 especially) is the best car Porsche makes. The GT3 was the most connected I've been to any car -- F-car, L-car, etc. Would have kept GT3 if I could have retrofitted kids seats in the back safely. The C2S is a great car and even better when my kids are riding with me.

As for GT3 impressions -- stiff clutch, wicked engine note, hot as hell looks, loud inside (can hear every little piece of gravel hit underside of car even at WOT), and with the sport bucket seats, feels like you're in a cockpit. If you love rougher ride, loud noise, high revs, etc., the GT3 is for you I think.

Very nice. Why the move from the GT3?

Well...the reasoning was:

* loved my C63, but wanted a new DD. Got a great offer that I could not refuse w.r.t the sale of that car
* then wanted to consolidate just 1 car for wife, & 1 for me, so the C2S bubbled to the top as a DD with 2 small kids
* got a great selling price on my GT3, which I could also not refuse

Regretted selling the C63 and the GT3 as they were a great team! Then I did a bunch of mods on my C2S as although I miss the GT3, I love having my kids in the car with me.

Quickly then learned that I "need" 2 cars. Was looking at F360/430, or G, but then an '87 Porsche Targa caught my eye, which I'm now modding slightly...(famous last words).

As an aside -- I love to mods cars. All I could justify on the GT3 was the Sharkwerks bypass and a painted rear center console from bumperplugs. In general, as my modding winds down, I sell. Not sure why -- it's just what I do.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the GT3 is the right move...
