Lightbulb Spy Shots: Next-gen Porsche 911 gets LED indicators

"No other automaker subscribes to the "evolution, not revolution" idiom more than Porsche, and the next generation 911 will benefit from yet another styling refresh later this year in the form of some subtly tweaked sheetmetal and a new set of LED indicators that join the current model's daytime running lights.

Although the front-mounted LEDs are the most glaring addition, these newest spy shots hint at slightly reworked front and rear fascias, Panamera-inspired mirrors and the possible addition of a retractable rear spoiler. If we had to guess, we'd expect the newest 911 to debut either at the Geneva Motor Show in March or the Paris show this October, with a few minor mechanical updates and the usual assortment of interior upgrades."

Pretty apparent how this car is wider and sleeker then the current 911. Door mounted mirrors I actually like.

Looks pretty sleek but I'm worried it's going to look sorta Panamera-ish...

The mirrors on the door skins are HIDEOUS. The rear window view reminds me of the Z4M coupe. Not sure about the additional LEDs until I see them. The wheels remind me of Sportec wheels. It doesn't look like enough to make me want to upgrade... I just want a 997.2 GT3 and I'll be content for a LONG time.

EDIT: If Porsche would build the Sport Classic body (widebody, RWD, double-bubble roof, ducktail) without all the fancy stuff inside (i.e. make it a normal 911), I'd buy one ASAP.

Give it some time peeps. I'm sure the next gen. 911 will be a home run just like the 997. Though I doubt it'll see the Geneva Auto show in March...

Chris, you just tell me when the time is right to trade in my C4S for a GT3 (i.e. before they stop building it...). Gulf blue, matching stitching, etc. Since my guy out here left, you are the man.

Honestly Chris- you might have missed it. If they release a 2011 GT3, you should jump on it. It'll be the last untill the next gen 911 comes out.

I have no idea if Porsche will build a 2011 GT3.

- And Thank You for the compliment. You know you can count on me.

DAMNNNN put an order in, gulf blue Gt3 would be the shiznit. Anyways, I just hope they don't keep making the 911 larger and wider...

WOW..., I'm so glad Porsche is still moving in the right direction. Such a beautiful design. Like most of you I'm sure, I can't wait for it to be totally unveiled. With all this ''camo'' on, the first thing to pop into my head was mitsu's Eclipse for some reason....
