Does the new iPod cable charge the iPod when the car is off? The current setup is kind of a pain, as if I don't drive my car for a day or two, my iPod (Classic 120 gb) is either dead or almost drained of battery power...
If this cable doesn't do it, have you heard any plans (software update) for them to fix this glitch?

The new cable will charge only the new 3g ipods and Iphones.

I do not see anything in the future like updates or new cables that will charge the classic ipods.
