Looks spectacular and it must save quite a bit of weight. However, doesn't CF have a way of disintegrating upon impact? Maybe it has a structural core? Maybe the weave layers are alternated like plywood?

In all fairness, there are bike frames made from CF.....

CF does delaminate if you exceed its elasticity ... but those limits are so mch higher than steel I'm not sure it would be a concern.

Tha article stated that they had developed a technology to prevent splintering in case of an accident but it didn't give any specifics

oakley design's got a lot of great stuff like that. I really like their RSR titanium exhaust available for GT3s.

Problem is it's hard (impossible?) to find any real info, specs, or prices. I perused F-L's site and still didn't come up with much. Undeniably their cars sound like they are amazing (likely with representative pricing), but if they want to sell the stuff they need to be telling people why their titanium exhaust, cf cage, etc. is so great.

Just my $.02

I've actually discussed a lot of their products with them directly. Its unfortunate that their website isnt more in depth. Also, I think that their relationship with Farnbacher-Loles is still somewhat in its infancy. However, I know from a friend's experience that if you deal with F-L directly they have a wealth of knowledge on the products.

If you email oakley they will send you all the info you'll need on the products. Why its not on their site is beyond me though.

Looks pretty cool would defiantly save some serious weight.
