Why don't you just swap tires on a single set of the original wheels? Why spend another $2-3K for a set of factory wheels for the winter?

Like those Toyota's. A lot of my buddies from HS are big Toyota guys. I'm not sure how great it will be in just simple snow as far as rear traction? Maybe spending the cash for some good tires as well as sand bags or something?

If it were me, I'd be very tempted to buy snow tires on the 997 with a high quality wrap on the front end and lower fascia and drive it all year.

Swapping tires on one set of wheels twice a year is gigantic PITA and also adds up (about $400-450). Having two sets of wheels makes life WAAAY easier. If I get the Toyota, it'll be 4x4 and with M+S tires. It'll make short work of the winters here.

The other consideration is the idiot drivers around here. I'd be gutted if some moron crashed into my beloved 997 because he/she couldn't drive in the snow...

I say throw on some studded Nokian tires on and drive her next winter. With roof rack
