Wheel shopping... *sigh* not GT3 wheels but I like them.

Thanks for the replies, I think there's been one vote for each so far so I'm pretty torn. At this very moment I'm leaning towards the GT3 wheels or these Ultraleggera's in silver. If I hadn't been ripped off the first time I wouldn't even hesitate to get the GT3 wheels.

Hey buddy,
I'm going to go against the grain on this one. GT3 wheels are heavy and are actually low quality wheels. In my opinion, the weak link in a great car.
Have you checked out Volk TE-37s? I have some of those in 19s (not willing to sell). They are very light (seems like 17.5 and 18.5 lbs... give or take a pound) and very strong (I should know... long story for another day). These are everywhere on track days, and I think they look pretty awesome too. They're the wheels I'm wearing in my avatar. Here's another pic. I got mine from Dan at Vivid Racing. The rears were $745ea and the fronts were $705ea. I run MPSC on them. Save money and get a better tire while you're at it: Toyo R888.

Just a suggestion. If you might consider 20s, I do have some really cool black Avus AF-MO2s in the garage in near perfect shape.

DJ: Matte Black OZ's are only $1,600 without tires. Cheap!
Jared: I love those Volks as well, but for some reason the GT3 wheels look better IMO. They are about 24lbs each +/- did you say they were too heavy or just not built well?
I'm not opposed to going with 20's, but I really think I need to drop my car by 1". Then that brings up the coilovers vs springs. Decisions, decisions.
Anyone have pics of those volks on a white 997?

Shoot dude. When you come up, we'll throw them on. Like I said, I want to keep mine, but you can try 'em out! We can also throw the 20s on. Those ARE for sale. I ran the 20s with H&R lowering springs and with Bilstein PSS9s. They do great. The overall diameter with 20s will be the same as with a 19" setup.
I really do think the Volks are nasty, in a good way. They are like, 'anti-bling' and purposeful. Like, "Porsche Gangsta". Love 'em. As for the GT3 wheel, they look so 'came OEM on a car' to me. Just my opinion. And I like the OZs, yeah. That's not a bad call at all. Way better than GT3 wheels, but I'm just throwin' opinions around all over the place here.

Also, I wouldn't swear to it, but I'm pretty sure that this pic was taken with just the H&R lowering springs and 20s. This was my car in the infant stages of crazy ass modding. It DID have a blower then though! These springs are like $300 and rode really well, actually. I see no reason to really go farther unless you drive hard or track.
