Some of the Turbo / GT3 parts are not only for looks.

That's funny you think it's "poseuriffic" considering that you can order the factory aero kit directly from Porsche ($6,000 option) on any 997, parts are identical to the GT3.

Congrats ATL!

In the case of someone putting them on their 911 Carrera (that probably will never see a track), they are most certainly for looks. Unless all that extra downforce is a necessity for slicing and dicing through ATL traffic jams or midnight runs to the grocery....
But like I said, your car, not mine. I just don't think it looks that good...not unless you go all out and get the entire kit...and then it looks like a GT3 or Turbo, when in reality, it's not. It's up to you, but I personally think the car looks good as is.

And I was using "your" in the general sense...it was an example, as I had the E46 in mind. I read your "what to get" thread and see you settled on a auto 335 vert...why, after that gorgeous C2S, I don't know. I hope it's only temporary.

I think the beauty of cars like the 911 (and even the 330 Bimmer) is that they are excellent daily driver cars that come from heritage of purpose built cars, in this case the GT3, or the M3 in the case of the Bimmer. Along with that heritage comes a deep parts bin of both body and performance parts that the enthusiast can use to individualize their particular car. I mean, if you're looking for a slightly more aggressive look, what better route to take then OEM?
