There's a very interesting story about how that car ended up in the US to begin with. Apparantly one very suave con-man somehow convinced Gumpert to ship the car to the US for some promotional events, and the proceeded to essentially steal the car. He was spotted at several high class Miami social events, as well as a trip to a local Audi dealer to replace a faulty part on the car. At almost every stop he made, he was followed up shortly thereafter by US Customs agents and the FBI. Eventually they caught him, and recovered the car, which is now in Cali.

If anyone's looking for a great salesperson....he just may be your guy, when he gets out of prison, that is.

 

Interesting...So what's the car doing in cali currently? Has a dealer or broker taken possession of it with Gumpert's blessing now to use it legitimately now for promotional and high class social events? Is it for sale?

Nice and all but there is no ways I can walk into...say: The Rainbow Room and tell anyone that I just bought a "GUMPERT" I mean seriuously folks. What the hell was Roland thinking?

Would be a real fun car to drive. But the interior does look cheap.

 

The interior is really tiny. It's just right for me. if you're over 6 feet the door won't close over your head.
