My brother worked for Chemical Bank on Long Island during the '80s. He lived in West Orange, NJ. I lived there with he and his wife as a teenager for 3 months during my summer vacation from school in 1984. Absolutely loved it. One of the best experiences of my life. I was scared shitless of the city when I first got there. But by the time I left, I was taking the train to Yankee Stadium - by myself. I made friends with this crazy lot of graffitti writers that used to sneak into the train lots at night and paint the trains. The main dude was a guy named Rich Mirando. He was a legend in the graffitti scene. He draws comics and is a tattoo artist now. I still keep in touch with him. We always get together when he visits for Comicon in San Diego each year. I can't beleive I survived that summer.

I am an old lawyer now. Who would have ever thought I ran with such a raucus group? I have the pictures to prove it though.
