Lightweight Flywheel

I am considering putting in a lightweight flywheel as I need to upgrade my clutch. Has anyone had any experiences (bad/good) with lightweight flywheels in the 997TT (6-speed)? I have heard some rumblings about issues.

in the 996tt, you need a little programming to keep the car from stalling when you come to a stop and press in the clutch.

i have no idea if that's an issue in the 997tt or not; i would assume yes since they don't come OEM w/ lwfw's.

Why do you need a clutch already?

This is what you need.

AWE Tuning - Products

Do not even bother looking anywhere else. This stuff is the real deal. I know people pushing 800 bhp and this clutch kit handles it with no problem. The lightweight flywheel also helps recover lost hp through a faster engine spool. I have felt it working and it is for real.

I am only running about 550 bhp so I am still fine with the stock clutch. But when it goes out, this is the setup I am getting - no doubt.

Don't think, just get it. You will thank me.

You don't want a sintered disk - Sach stage 2 is probably as far as you want to go.

I have been told that a LWFW will rattle too on idle.

I will be going to a Sach stage 2 kit when my stock one wears out. I am on the fence about the LWFW though as I have heard the gains are limited and the rattle can be annoying for street use.
