Spied Again: 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible

Our Teamspeed spies have again spotted the drop-top 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo close-up for us. Wearing minimal camouflage, the prototype appears virtually production ready. As we have been reporting over the past year, the overall design stays pretty faithful to the current model, but there's a revised front fascia, larger air intakes and a new four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Engine details remain elusive, but rumors still suggest the car will have a possible triple-turbocharged flat-six with approximately 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp). It will be connected to a seven-speed manual or an optional PDK transmission, which should ensure this is one of the world's fastest convertibles.

Stay tuned for more as always!

Not a fan of the rear fenders. Looks like a Boxster mated with a 911.

Waiting on the final product before passing judgement. Looking forward to the specs on this one, too. So far, I've been impressed with the 991.

Thanks for sharing these awesome spyshots, as always, DJ!

That might not be such a bad thing, in my opinion. I remember a photoshop that someone did before the 991 was officially introduced. The back end looked like the mixture of a wide-body 911 and a Cayman. It looked stunning, and I have always liked the styling of the Cayman's back-end.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a hint that Porsche was perhaps going to try and slightly differentiate the Turbo/GT's from the rest of the 911 line-up, or was it just wishful thinking on my part?

I was on Live nurburgring site, look what I found. Is that a 991 Turbo? (Circled)
