Spied Again: 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible at the Nürburgring
Once again our Teamspeed spies catch the new 911 turbo tearing it up at the ring undergoing final testing as Porsche is getting closer and closer to its official reveal. We gather we are still a good few months away but it's always a hoot to guess what is going on under the camouflage these test mules like to carry.
As we have noted is previous reports, the overall design of the new 911 (Type 991) turbo stays relatively faithful to the current model, but there's a revised front fascia, larger air intakes and a new four-tailpipe exhaust system. New to us is a rather large lower front lip on this test mule and the rear wing appears to be much more substantial then the set-up on the outgoing 997 Turbo.
Engine details remain elusive, but rumors suggest the car will have a turbocharged flat-six with approximately 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp). It will be connected to a seven-speed manual or an optional PDK transmission, which should ensure this is one of the world's fastest convertibles. Stay tuned for more soon.
