Spied: 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible at the Nürburgring
Just one day after the world reveal of the new 911 Carrera and Carrera S (type 911), our Teamspeed spies snap the first pictures of the 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Wearing minimal camouflage, the prototype appears virtually production ready. The overall design stays pretty faithful to the current model, but there's a revised front fascia, larger air intakes and a new four-tailpipe exhaust system.
Engine details remain elusive, but rumors suggest the car will have a turbocharged flat-six with approximately 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp). It will be connected to a seven-speed manual or an optional PDK transmission, which should ensure this is one of the world's fastest convertibles. Stay tuned for more soon.

I think the reason they're testing the Turbo so hard and so early is because they want to make it one of the fastest cars you can buy, and are trying to make it faster than the GT-R around the Nordschleife.

I heard the GT3 is coming Autumn 2012, and the Turbo in Spring 2013.

Can't wait to see the end results.
