Another Special Edition....

Wondering if Porsche is giving some thought about the potential impact on its client base (surely some appreciate more choice but by reading the forums it seems more are rather annoyed) in the long run versus the short term financial gains.

10 cars has zero change on the longterm outlook and client satisfaction. Yea there are some of us on this site who think all these editions are silly but I am sure the 10 people who buy them think they have the coolest most unique 911s to date.

Forums are made up of a tiny fraction of the total market and we are the exception - not the rule.
Why do you think something like 78% of all Ferrari's were F1 not 6 speed back when it was an option? Because most real buyers want an auto and dont give a rip. Ask "forum guys" what they want and they will all say 6 speed LOL.
Same with Porsche. Go online and take a look at pre owned 997Turbos. Soooo many cars out there with awesome options - high msrp - and guess what? Its a TIP! Ask any forum guy what he wants? 6 speed.
So what we want and we all read on the forums (not just this one) isnt really a good picture of the "real" marketplace in my opinion.
That being said --- all these special editions is a little boring now --- but WOW, i like what they have done on this car a lot. Problem is - as the oem comes out with more and more special items already on the car --- whats left for the aftermarket?
