Great choice, It would have been a tough choice between the 997S and R8 for me, but I think I would have went with the 997 as well. Enjoy it!

Which to choose
I had the same dilemma. I really loved the way the Aston looks but the thought of driving a "slow" looker was not acceptable to me. Driving an R8 on the East Coast would bring what I consider too much unwanted attention and, at least with the 8 cylinder, would again be too "slow". The TT is "fast", and while recognized by enthusiasts, most others don't know the difference from other 911s. I like flying (fast) under the radar.
